Mr. Keenan gave the school a special boost this year regarding his dedication to the Positive Mental Health of the Greenhills community.  His years of commitment and hard-work in this critical area of life were officially recognised at the recent National Teacher of the Year Awards.

Mr Keenan was nominated by his pupils who recognise and appreciate all the effort he has made in trying to bring a sense of wellbeing, support and togetherness to our community. He was honoured at a ceremony, held at Trinity College Dublin, which celebrates outstanding contributions by second-level teachers who “go beyond the classroom to establish a lasting impact in their students’ lives”. In his usual modest way Mr Keenan shied away from praise and accepted the award on behalf of his committee and his team of dedicated helpers.

The PMHW, Positive Mental Health Week, has become such a special week in the school calendar, as a unique celebration of optimism and positivity it is eagerly awaited and then it’s over all too soon- a time of laughter, friendship, support, advice and generosity of spirit.

Thanks Tony for your great work in raising our awareness and for trying to get us to focus on the really important things in life!
