Sad passing of Sinéad Maguire, 6th year student, mourned by Our Lady’s College
Our school has experienced the sudden death of Sinead Maguire, a 6th year student. We are deeply saddened by her death.
Our prayers and thoughts are with her family, friends and the wider school community at this time. We have a support plan in place to help all students. Our support team includes the Guidance Counsellors, Chaplain, National Educational Psychological Services team, management team and teachers.
It is possible that your daughter may have some feelings and questions that she may like to discuss with you. You can help your daughter by taking time to listen and by encouraging her to express her feelings. All students are different and will express their feelings in different ways.
All students are asked to be part of the guard of honour for Sinead. Students who can make it, are asked to meet at the school @ 11:30am on Thursday 20th February. Details of the funeral are now on www.rip.ie.
Although classes will continue as usual when we return on Monday 24th, we anticipate that students may need to use some of the support services outlined above.
If you would like any further information and/or advice, please contact us or other members of the support team at the school.
Our Lady’s College prays this week for Sinéad Maguire.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
We also pray this week for all of our students who mourn family members who have passed recently.
